The Lale and Cengiz Akıncı Collection
Cengiz Akıncı is the son of renowned painter Naile Akıncı, a graduate of the State Academy of Fine Arts.
Encouraged by his mother, Cengiz Akıncı began collecting artworks at the age of sixteen. In 1983, he married Lale Aldıkaçtı, a fellow lawyer and art collector. The collection that Lale and Cengiz Akıncı built together has grown and diversified over the years, reaching a volume of more than a thousand pieces, including works of painting, sculpture, ceramics, and glass art.
This collection, which primarily features artists who graduated from the Academy, was donated by the Akıncı couple to the Istanbul Museum of Painting and Sculpture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2023.
This second selection from the collection, titled “Diverse Dimension”, brings together nearly three hundred rare works and is now before you.
