Koleksiyonu

The IMPS calligraphy collection includes colophons by the last masters of the Ottoman Calligraphy: Necmettin Okyay, Beşiktaşlı Hacı Nuri Korman, Macit Ayral, İsmail Hakkı Altunbezer. Our collection was created at the Academy of Fine Arts by purchasing a piece of art every month from calligraphy masters for one month’s work. This practice, which started during the period of the Minister of National Education Hasan Ali Yücel, continued until 1960. The rare examples of the last masters of Turkish calligraphy are among the cornerstones of this collection.
