IMPS sculpture collection can be regarded as the most important archive of the Turkish sculpture art from the last quarter of the 19th century to the 20th century. Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, with which the museum is affiliated, has the distinction of being the first institution to provide sculpture education. The IMPS sculpture collection includes works of the university’s earliest predecessor, Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi’s sculpture tutor Yervant Osgan and works by his students İhsan Özsoy, İsa Behzat, Mahir Tomruk. Besides, it also houses works from Ali Hadi Bara, Zühtü Müritoğlu, Nusret Suman, İlhan Koman, Şadi Çalık and Kuzgun Acar, some of the most important names of the Turkish sculpture art. The collection shapes contemporary Turkish sculpture art from the Late Ottoman period to the 1980s. It is the most comprehensive modern Turkish sculpture collection in Turkey with works by prominent artists.
